![]() The book is a compilation of his favorite stories from presidential campaign history. I received Whistlestop by John Dickerson, CBS host of Face the Nation, for Christmas and just finished it. In the summer I would read this in three days rather than three months but regardless, it was an outstanding read. However, this blog entry will serve as proof. No cameras were rolling at 3:20 PM on Mawhen I actually finished a book. This is a massive accomplishment that I finished a book during the school year. **Note: This is my first book review so go easy on me. ![]() It’s very readable but also is thoroughly researched. Whistlestop is a great ready for anyone who has a casual interest in learning the great stories behind our elections. I’d like to change that and make this a thing. I will make notes in the margins but once it’s done it’s on the shelf. This post is really for me as I read a lot of books but don’t have any documentation for them. ![]() I wanted to provide an example for my juniors on how to do a book review. ![]() *Note: This is a book review I wrote for John Dickerson’s Whistlestop. ![]()

It was a good, funny show, but again you have to know what you are getting into as Tyson will talk about his life that includes escorts and drug use. Mike Tyson reveals the stories behind his staggering rise and fall - and just what he was thinking when he bit that ear. Nobody expects Tyson to be a professional speaker. Still, there were points where he stumbled a little, paused, and waited for his lines from his assistants. ![]() So for him to stand on the stage by himself in front of a giant crowd talking for over an hour, I don't mind him getting some help through his earpieces. Mike Tyson is a former professional boxer, not a stand-up comedian. On both of his ears were big white earpieces with wires going along his neck, which I assume were for people feeding him his lines. Tyson talked for probably over an hour, and though he did not use teleprompters, he seemed to clearly have help. So you have to know what you are getting into. Some of the stories Tyson tells, such as his rendezvous with escorts, may be discomforting to some audiences. ![]() It was very entertaining, but Tyson is Tyson and the language is very blunt and very adult.
